Property Tax Relief
Helping Wisconsin Families Keep More of What They Earn
For many families in Wisconsin, property taxes have become one of the biggest financial challenges they face. Whether you're a young family buying your first home, a retiree living on a fixed income, a farmer working to keep your land in the family, or a homeowner trying to make ends meet, rising property taxes affect your financial security.
I believe Wisconsin can provide meaningful property tax relief while continuing to invest in the local services that make our communities strong. We should never force families to choose between staying in their homes and paying their bills.
My Priorities
Property tax relief should be practical, responsible, and sustainable. Rather than shifting costs from one group of taxpayers to another, I believe we need long-term solutions that strengthen both homeowners and our local communities.
That means asking important questions:
-
Are state dollars being invested where they are needed most?
-
Are local governments receiving the support they need?
-
Are taxpayers seeing value for the dollars they contribute?
-
Can we reduce unnecessary costs without sacrificing essential services?
These are conversations that deserve thoughtful solutions—not political talking points.
Protecting Our Communities
Lower property taxes should not come at the expense of public safety, quality schools, or reliable local services.
Strong communities depend on:
-
Well-maintained roads and infrastructure
-
Police, fire, and emergency medical services
-
Strong public schools
-
Libraries and community resources
-
Safe parks and public spaces
I believe Wisconsin can support both responsible tax relief and the services that make our communities great places to live and raise a family.
Every community is different.
The challenges facing Wisconsin Rapids may not be the same as those facing Adams, Nekoosa, Pittsville, or the smaller towns throughout District 72. Before supporting changes that affect property taxes, I believe it is important to listen to homeowners, local elected officials, business owners, farmers, and school leaders who understand the unique needs of their communities.
The best solutions come from listening first.
Listening Before Legislating
My Commitment
If elected, I will work to make homeownership more affordable, protect seniors living on fixed incomes, support responsible state funding for our local communities, and pursue practical solutions that reduce the property tax burden without weakening the services Wisconsin families depend on.
I don't pretend to have every answer. I will continue listening, asking questions, and working with the people of District 72 to find solutions that reflect the real needs of our communities—not just the loudest voices in the room.
